Solar Homes Program

The Victorian Government’s Solar Homes Program aims to reduce the cost of living and increase the uptake of renewable energy. Under this program, eligible Victorian households can receive:

Solar Panel (PV) Rebate: Up to $1,400 to help with the cost of installing solar panels.
Solar Panel (PV) Loan: Interest free loans of $1400 to assist households in financing the upfront cost of installing a solar system.
Solar Battery Loan: Interest-free loans of up to $8,800 are available to help eligible Victorian households reduce the upfront costs of installing a solar battery
Solar for Rentals: The Solar for Rentals program offers eligible rental providers a rebate of up to $1,400 for the installation of solar panels (PV) on their property, slashing the upfront costs of solar while increasing the value and appeal of their property. Eligible rental providers can also apply for an interest-free loan of up to $1,400.
Solar Hot Water Rebate: Up to $1,000 to assist with the cost of solar hot water systems.

Eligibility Criteria:

You must be the owner-occupier of the property.
The combined household taxable income must be less than $210,000 per year.
The property must be valued at under $3 million.
You should not have already received a rebate as part of the Solar Homes Program.
For solar battery loans, you must have already installed solar panels. or are installing them in conjunction with the battery storage.
For rental property rebates, landlords must ensure the property meets specific requirements.
